Stitching Through Time: “The Last Straw” Lamp

This event is no longer on sale.

Sunday March 31

2:00 PM  –  4:00 PM

“Stitching Through Time” is a monthly crafting series where you’ll meet to make a project and learn about its history in the process.

Last summer, FCMoD shifted from using plastic straws to eco-friendly waxed paper for our Sound Bites exhibit. So, what do we do with all the plastic straws that were left over? We make an awesome craft out of them, of course! Join us for Stitching Through Time as we repurpose our wrapped straw surplus into funky wall sconces inspired by craft guru Mark Montano’s legendary “Strawburst Lamp.” Class fee covers all supplies to make your own fabulous 10” wall lamp that casts a gentle LED glow (colors may vary).

Ages 16+, with exceptions for caregivers with children who will attend together. $12/$10 for members.

Note: If you are a museum member, be sure to register and sign in using the links at the top of this page for a discount on your tickets.
