June 13: Inner Workings of the Ear

Lend an ear! Join us in learning about the inner workings of the human ear; from how our ears process sound using the smallest bones in the body to helping us maintain balance. Don’t be hard of hearing! Join FCMoD staff on Zoom and learn just how amazing our ears are.


Registration closes June 11th. Instruction for this program will take place live on Zoom on June 13th. All materials and supplies will be available by delivery or pickup before the program.



Cost: $12 per family, $10 for members

Timed-Ticket Admission

Welcome to Fort Collins Museum of Discovery online admission. All visitors - including members - are being requested to reserve admissions tickets for a specific date and arrival time prior to arriving at FCMoD. We need your partnership in this in order to successfully reopen in a way that helps ensure the safety of yourself, our visitors, volunteers, and staff.

The tickets reserved here are for General Admission to FCMoD and may be used on the selected date and arrival window. To change your intended arrival date or arrival window, see above and select "Other Dates" and "Other Times" for additional options.

Tot Spot Reservation

We've reworked this museum experience to facilitate one visitor group at a time with stringent cleaning protocols between each 45 minute visit. Although free, tickets are required for this space and must be reserved in conjunction with your general admission time. Please reserve only one Tot Spot time per visit. Use this link to get your spot.

When You Arrive

When you arrive, please have your ticket readily available. Follow the link in your confirmation email to print your ticket at home or to display it on your mobile device. When you arrive to the museum you will be asked for names and contact information for each member of your party. This is required by Larimer County Department of Public Health to allow for possible contact tracing.

Please do not plan to visit the museum if you have a cough or fever. By purchasing tickets, you and your guests agree to follow our safety policies. Visit to learn more.

Tot Spot Reservation

In order to maintain physical distancing requirements and provide a safe and healthy Tot Spot experience we are currently limiting Tot Spot access to a single family at a time. Please use this form to reserve your 30 minute time-slot to access the Tot Spot. There is no additional charge to access the Tot Spot, however you MUST add General Admission for the same date and for each member of your party before checking out by clicking here.

No Show Policy

Due to high demand, we have instituted a no-show policy for this area. Please arrive at the Tot Spot within 10 minutes of your reserved time or your reservation will be released to another group. If you are running late, please call the museum's Welcome Desk at 221-6738 and we will happily hold the reservation. Thank you for your understanding.

Meet the Instrument Workshop

Is your ukulele gathering dust in a closet? Looking for a new outlook on the instrument? Join us for a uk-mazing time in a basic introduction in to the Ukulele! Explore the history behind the instrument, discover how to best care for your Uke, and learn chords, strumming patterns, and songs. Uke can do it!


Registration closes 20. Instruction for this workshop will take place live on Zoom on August 23. All materials and supplies will be available by delivery or pickup before the workshop. We ask that you provide your own Ukulele. Communication regarding delivery or pickup will be sent after registration.




Cost: $25, $20 for members

Ages: Open to all ages; designed for ages 10+. Younger participants may require parent supervision and assistance

Wellness Walk

In conjunction with FCMoD's newest special exhibition, Mental Health: Mind Matters, join Volunteer Naturalists for a short and slow wellness walk along the Poudre River! Discover ways to incorporate mindfulness and daily time in nature into your self care routine.


Up to 1 mile; easy pace. Space is limited, pre-registration recommended. Participants must wear a mask and maintain social distancing of 6 ft. while participating in the program. Walks will leave promptly at 1pm from the main entrance of Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. Please arrive 10 minutes early. Presented in partnership with City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department.

Ferret Feeding

Visit with the museum’s very own live black-footed ferrets, the most endangered mammal in North America! Join us in the Natural Areas Exhibit to learn about the conservation work being done to return black-footed ferrets to the wild, from the national captive breeding program to new advances in cloning. Meet the different ferrets that live at FCMoD, and watch as our furry friends tear into their weekend meal. Who knows, you just might become BFFs with our BFFs!
