Scientists call DNA the building block of life… but what is it, and how does it work? In this lab, your family will have the chance to take on the job of a cell and translate a DNA sequence to make important (slimy!) proteins. Then, you’ll have the chance to extract your very own DNA from your cheek cells. It’ll be D-N-A-mazing!

Discovery Labs are hour-long labs designed for families to explore a topic together. All ages are welcome, but this topic is recommended for ages 8+. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult. Space is limited to 6 families.

$5 per family of 6 or fewer people/$4 per member family.

Note: If you are a museum member, be sure to register and sign in using the links at the top of this page for a discount on your tickets.
